The computer science undergraduate learned about OnePager's core operations from its three co-founders.

For Immediate Release

DENVER - March 20, 2024. OnePager, a leading provider of project timeline and Gantt chart software, on March 14 hosted Diego Rico, a computer science undergraduate at Rice University, as part of Rice's Owl Edge Externship Program.

All three of OnePager's co-founders have undergraduate degrees from Rice, in disciplines ranging from physics to psychology to history.

Rico spent the day meeting with all three executives as well as other members of OnePager's engineering team. He also worked on a real, customer-impacting software development challenge with OnePager engineers.

"Through this invaluable experience, I learned about the importance of building a strong product and even stronger business-consumer relationships, got acquainted with powerful industry tools like Azure and Visual Studio, and gained advice on how to best achieve success along the startup journey," said Rico. "I will certainly hold this experience close as I embark on my future endeavors."

Nathan Black, OnePager's Vice President of Solutions and engineering team lead, added, "It was a pleasure to work with Diego, who brought a positive attitude, great work ethic, and insightful questions. We know firsthand that Rice is a wonderful place to get a broad, rigorous undergraduate education and prepare for a meaningful career. Diego showed he has a bright future ahead of him."

Rice students interested in future externship opportunities can learn more about the Owl Edge Externship Program, which will return in March 2025.
