Most schedules show work that takes place during the work week, but in this article, we will explore creating a Gantt chart that displays, on an hourly scale, work done over the weekend.
Below is a schedule with tasks for Saturday and Sunday between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.

The next step is to launch OnePager and create the chart by going to Add-ins > OnePager > New. After clicking New, you should see the “OnePager choices” window; we will select an out-of-the-box template designed for an hourly view. To do this, click Change… and then Browse, which will bring you to the template folder. Select the “Hourly View” template, and then finish creating your chart.

At this point, you should see something similar to Gantt chart below with a time range from 8 am – 11 pm on Saturday and 12 am – 1 pm on Sunday. The next step is to remove the whitespace between Saturday and Sunday, since it represents non-working time.

To clear up the white space, we can set working hours for Saturday and Sunday by going to Chart Properties > Time Axis > Format > Define Working Hours… Click on Sunday, then Add. Doing this will create working times for that day. Do the same for Saturday as well, and then click OK.

Before we close the Chart Properties window, we need to uncheck the box for Show Non-Working Hours and click OK.
The date range of your chart is now defined by the working hours and should have removed the unwanted white space. Notice that the time axis now jumps from Saturday at 4:00 pm to Sunday at 8:00 am.

Hopefully, you don’t have to work on weekends, but if you do, now you know how to track that work in OnePager! If you have anything to add, feel free to comment below.
