-
In Planisware, we will start with an example portfolio containing three separate projecs, called Project A, B, and C:
-
For each of the three projects, decide which activities to display in the timeline. To do this, insert an attribute called Send to OnePager? into each project. In this example, we've selected key activities from Project A. Once you've finished selecting activities for the first project, save it, and select your activities for the remaining projects.
-
Now, we can launch OnePager from the desktop:
-
On the OnePager start screen, choose New to begin building a new Planisware multi-project timeline:
-
From the import wizard, go to Select > BROWSE Planisware Enterprise:
If this is your first time using OnePager with Planisware, OnePager will ask you to connect to your Planisware Enterprise account.
-
Once connected, OnePager displays a list of all projects available in Planisware. Hold down the Ctrl key while selecting projects from the portfolio. After selecting all of the necessary projects from the portfolio, click OK:
-
Select one of OnePager's multi-project timeline or birds on a wire templates as a starting point, and make sure that the Send to OnePager? attribute is selected as your task filter. :
-
Click Create New Chart, and OnePager will create a multi-project timeline like this:
-
Depending on the setup of your portfolio in Planisware, especially the WBS, you may need to adjust OnePager's swimlane and timeline settings to group and sort the chart correctly. Go to Home > Chart Properties > Rows/Swimlanes. In this example, we are using a Timeline Layout based on the project name, and are also grouping into swimlanes based on the project name:
-
OnePager can support a secondary child swimlane based on the Planisware WBS as well. This allows you to have a separate swimlane for each phase of each project. To enable this, click on the Left #2 swimlane tab, and enable a sub-swimlane based on the Level 2 Summary Name field, which is the second level of the WBS in Planisware:
-
Click OK, and your chart should now look like this. Each phase of each subproject is its own timeline with child activities lined up left-to-right. Those phases are then grouped into swimlanes based on the overall project name:
