OnePager is project timeline software for Smartsheet that creates color-coded resource reports. Don't have OnePager yet? You can download a free trial and try it out today.
Start with a Smartsheet project. In this example, all tasks have at least one resource assigned, but some tasks have more than one resource assigned:
Notice that "Task B" is assigned to both Charles and Hannah at the same time.
You can choose which tasks you want to import into your OnePager timeline using a Smartsheet checkbox column, as shown above.
When you are ready to start building your resource allocation report, double-click the OnePager icon on your desktop. From the Start screen that appears, choose New.
On the import wizard, go to Select > Browse Smartsheet:
If you haven't imported from Smartsheet into OnePager before, Smartsheet will ask you to confirm your credentials.
Once logged into Smartsheet, select your project, and click OK:
OnePager has a template that is specially-designed to handle projects where multiple people are assigned to the same task. You can download it here and save it to your desktop:
Multi-Resource Allocation View for Smartsheet.tat (OnePager Template)
After downloading the OnePager template, return to OnePager, and in the Starting Template section, click Change..., then BROWSE... to select the "Multi-Resource Allocation View for Smartsheet" template from your desktop.
Type in a name for your project resource report, and pick today’s date as your status date, as shown below:
Click the Next button, followed by Create New Chart, and you'll get a project timeline with a swimlane for each of the resources that are assigned:
Notice that some Smartsheet tasks appear multiple times in the same Gantt chart. For example, "Task E" is assigned to both Eric and Gabriel, so it appears separately in each of their swimlanes, even though it's the same task in Smartsheet:
