In Wrike, a space usually contains multiple projects. In this example, we want to create a multi-project Gantt chart from the first three projects in our Wrike space (Project A, Project B, and Project C):
-
Click on the first Wrike project in the space, Project A, to open it, and then switch to the Table view:
-
Most of the time, we want to import some, but not all tasks from Wrike into our Gantt chart. It's easy to select which tasks should appear in the Gantt chart by using a custom checkbox field. To enable this field, click on the gear button. If you already have a custom field for OnePager, enable it. If you don't see the field, click on the link to Manage custom fields so that you can add it.
-
If you do need to add the OnePager field, when you get to the next screen, click Add field. If there is already a custom field for OnePager in your Wrike account, add it to your project. If the field doesn't exist in your Wrike account yet, click on Create new field and create a field called OnePager with a Type of Checkbox, like this:
For faster access to this field in the future, we recommend setting up the field so that it Belongs to entire account. This will make it available for filtering other Wrike projects in the future.
-
Once you've returned to your Wrike project, find the OnePager field, and check the box next to any tasks that you'd like to include in your multi-project Gantt chart:
-
With the desired tasks selected in Project A, we can now repeat the previous steps for Project B and Project C until we've selected the tasks from each project in the portfolio that we want to include in the multi-project Gantt chart. Once that is complete, launch OnePager from your desktop:
-
On the OnePager start screen, choose New to start building a new Wrike multi-project Gantt chart:
-
From the import wizard, go to Select > BROWSE Wrike:
If this is your first time using OnePager with Wrike, you will see a sign-in screen to allow OnePager to connect to your Wrike account.
-
Once connected to Wrike, OnePager will display a list of all of your available projects. Hold down the Ctrl key to select all three projects from the portfolio, and once everything has been selected, click OK:
-
Back on the import wizard, choose a multi-project template, and then select the OnePager checkbox field to filter your tasks from Wrike:
-
Click Create New Chart to import your portfolio of projects from Wrike. OnePager will combine the tasks from all three Wrike projects into a Gantt chart, like this:
-
If your Wrike projects have a lot of summary tasks, you can group and sort your OnePager Gantt chart into swimlanes and sub-swimlanes to match. Our multi-project Gantt chart above is already has a first set of swimlanes based on the Wrike project name, but we can add a sub-swimlane based on the next level of parent tasks from each Wrike project. To do this, go to Home > Chart Properties > Rows/Swimlanes. Click on the Left #2 swimlane tab and map it to the Level 1 Summary Name which are the summary tasks from the Wrike WBS:
-
Click OK, and OnePager will re-group your Gantt chart, adding a secondary swimlane based on the phases of each Wrike project:
