OnePager can import data from Project Online by either connecting directly to your PWA server, or by pulling the data through Microsoft Project on the desktop. Regardless of the connection method, the end result will be the same. This article documents both methods of importing from Project Online.
- Import from Project Online using Microsoft Project
- Import using a direct connection between OnePager and Project Online
Microsoft Project Add-In
Open Microsoft Project on your desktop. When prompted, select the profile of your Project Online (PWA) site.
If the desired Project Online plan does not appear in your list of recent projects, go to File > Open and then underneath Project Web App select your Project Online account:
Click Browse and your Project Online projects will be displayed in Windows Explorer. If you still do not see the Project file you need, double-click on Show me the list of all projects. Once you see the Project Online plan you want, click on it and choose Open.
Once your project plan has loaded, OnePager can work with it just like any traditional *.mpp file. Go to the Add-Ins tab, and click the OnePager button.
When the start screen appears, click NEW.
The import wizard should already reflect the project that you downloaded from PWA into Microsoft Project. If you need to add more projects, click on Add/Remove
On the Data Source Selection screen, click Add > BROWSE Microsoft Project Online, Project Server, or PWA:
-
You will see a list of the additional projects in your Project Online account. Click to select one, or hold down the Ctrl key to select several projects at once.
-
Back on the import wizard, select a template, set up a filter, and click on Create New Chart
OnePager will import your project(s) through Microsoft Project on a desktop and create a new chart.
Direct Connection to Project Online
Launch OnePager using the desktop icon:
When the start screen appears, click NEW.
On the import wizard click Select > BROWSE Microsoft Project Online, Project Server, or PWA:
OnePager may prompt you for your PWA credentials so that it can connect to Project Online on your behalf.
-
Once connected, you will see a list of the projects in your Project Online account. Click to select one, or hold down the Ctrl key to select several projects at once.
-
Back on the import wizard, select a template, set up a filter, and click on Create New Chart
OnePager will import your project(s) from Project Online and create a new chart.
