Do you use the same chart for different audiences? Maybe you need to quickly focus on one portion of your project, and don’t want to create a separate chart with a different flag field. With display filters, you can quickly show and hide different tasks without having to adjust how you are importing data from your underlying project plan.
In this example, we'll show you how to create, modify, switch, and clear display filters from this simple project plan:

Creating a New Display Filter
To create your first display filter, go to the View tab and click on the Display Filter button:

You can also go to Home > Show/Hide > Display Filter, and choose the New Display Filter option.

Both methods will take you to a screen to create a new display filter:

Give your filter a name to make it easier to select or edit in the future. If your display filter has multiple rules, you can also decide whether all of the rules should be true, or just one rule:
- ANY of the following are true: Choose this option if you would like your rules to operate using "OR" logic, where a task will qualify for the filter if it meets any one of your rules.
- ALL of the following are true: Choose this option if you would like your rules to operate using "AND" logic, where a task will only qualify for the filter if it meets all of your rules.
In this example, we've created a display filter called "Incomplete Tasks" which will only show tasks where the % Complete field is less than 100%. Click OK to apply the filter.
OnePager will locate all the tasks where percent complete is less than 100%, ensure that they display in the chart, and then hide everything else. The end result is that the first two tasks from "Phase 1" are filtered out of the chart, since they are already complete:

Switching between Display Filters
Let's assume that we've created two display filters:
- Incomplete Tasks: Any tasks where % Complete is less than 100%
- Tasks that Haven't Started: Any tasks where % Complete is 0%
To switch from one display filter to another, go back to the View tab, and click on the ▼ triangle underneath the Display Filter button. From the dropdown that appears, hover your mouse over the filter that you'd like to enable, and then choose the Select option:

You can also switch filters by going to Home > Show/Hide > Display Filters, hovering over your desired display filter and clicking on Select:

OnePager will switch from the first filter to the second filter, and your chart will show the tasks that match the newly-selected filter, which in this case means that only tasks that have made no progress will appear:

Clearing Display Filters
OnePager makes it easy to quickly clear any display filters and return your chart so that it shows all of the tasks and milestones that were originally imported.
Go to the View tab. Click the Display Filters button to turn your current display filter off. If you click the same button a second time, OnePager will re-apply the same filter. You can quickly toggle your default filter on and off with a single button click.

You can also clear your display filter by going to Home > Show/Hide > Display Filters, and choosing the Clear Display Filter option:

Note that clearing a display filter doesn't delete the filter. It just turns it off so that all of your tasks and milestones return to the chart. If you want to fully delete a filter so that it's no longer selectable, read the next section for additional instructions.
Editing or Deleting Display Filters
Display filters can be edited or deleted. Editing a filter lets you change its underlying rules or adjust how its name appears in the dropdown. Deleting a filter will remove it from the dropdown altogether.
The first step in editing or deleting a display filter is to select the filter from the dropdown. As with all other display filter settings, you can access the dropdown either from the View tab by clicking on the ▼ triangle underneath the Display Filters button, or by going to Home > Show/Hide > Display Filters.
Once the dropdown appears, hover over the filter, and then choose either Edit or Delete:

When you edit a filter, OnePager will automatically select it as your active filter and apply it to your chart.
If you delete the active filter, OnePager will return your chart to an unfiltered state. On the other hand, if you delete a filter that is not currently active, OnePager will remove it from the dropdown, but will not change the filtering of your chart.
Display Filters in Templates
When you turn your chart into a template by going to Home > Save as Template, any display filters present in your chart will automatically become a part of the template. Any new charts that you create from that template will contain the same set of display filters, making it easy to standardize filtering across your team without the need to set them up individually for each new chart.
Any new charts that you create from templates containing display filters will start out as unfiltered. This way, you can more easily double-check the tasks and milestones that you've imported before applying a filter to your chart.
Display Filters Don't Control Which Tasks are Imported
It's important to remember that display filters are designed to show or hide tasks that have already been imported. If a task was never imported into OnePager to begin with, a display filter will not cause it to appear until you adjust your import filter to include it.
For example, assume that you are using Flag 20 to decide which tasks from Microsoft Project will be imported into your chart. Before you can use display filters to show or hide a specific task in your OnePager chart, you'll first need to make sure that the task has been flagged in Microsoft Project so that OnePager can import it.
